A shop in Al-Sadriyaمحلٌّ في الصدرية
Our journey began in 1959, founded by Mr. Abdul Karim Al-Kawaz — a graduate in commerce from Baghdad. The first location stood in the heart of the city's commercial district, Al-Sadriya, where we specialised in electrical tools and goods. We soon joined the Baghdad Chamber of Commerce and held agencies for the African Company and precision-equipment makers.بدأت رحلتنا منذ عام ١٩٥٩، حيث أسّسها السيد عبد الكريم الكواز — خرّيج التجارة من بغداد. كان موقعنا الأول في قلب منطقة الصدرية التجارية، حيث تخصّصنا في تجارة الأدوات والمواد الكهربائية. سرعان ما انضممنا إلى غرفة تجارة بغداد وحصلنا على وكالة الشركة الأفريقية وشركات المعدات الدقيقة.

The world arrivesالعالم يصل إلينا
Over the years we expanded steadily, securing import licences and sourcing from the United Kingdom, Italy, Romania, China, Japan, Switzerland and Korea. We supported the Central Bank through deferred imports, and became principal distributors for Iraq's mixed and private sectors — the Light Industries, Electronics Industries and Al-Hilal companies among them.على مرّ السنين توسّعنا تدريجياً وحصلنا على إجازات استيراد، واستوردنا من المملكة المتحدة وإيطاليا ورومانيا والصين واليابان وسويسرا وكوريا. ساهمنا في الاقتصاد العراقي عبر الاستيراد الآجل لدعم البنك المركزي، وأصبحنا الموزّعين الرئيسيين لكثير من السلع المعمّرة في القطاعين المختلط والخاص.

The second generationالجيل الثاني يتولّى
In 1993, Mr. Sarmad Abdul Karim — a technology graduate and son of the founder — took the helm. Through the sanctions years he introduced quiet industrial innovations to keep the trade alive when the rest of the city's commerce had slowed to a hush.في عام ١٩٩٣ تولّى السيد سرمد عبد الكريم — خرّيج التكنولوجيا ونجل المؤسّس — إدارة الأعمال. خلال فترة العقوبات نفّذ ابتكارات صناعية بسيطة للحفاظ على استمرار التجارة، حين خفتت تجارة المدينة كلّها.

New routesطُرقٌ جديدة
Imports resumed from Dubai and Syria in 1999, from China in 2001, then Italy — earning an excellent rating from the Baghdad Chamber of Commerce. The doors of the world reopened, one port at a time.استأنفنا الاستيراد من دبي وسوريا عام ١٩٩٩، ومن الصين عام ٢٠٠١، ثم إيطاليا، فحصلنا على تصنيف ممتاز من غرفة تجارة بغداد. عادت أبواب العالم تُفتح، ميناءً تلو الآخر.

In 2005 we incorporated as Asalet Al-Kawaz Co. — the house of trade, finally with a charter. What had been a family practice for two generations now stood as a company, registered and ready for the next.في عام ٢٠٠٥ أنشأنا كياناً خاصاً باسم شركة أصالة الكواز — دار التجارة، أخيراً بميثاق. ما كان ممارسةً عائلية لجيلين أصبح شركةً مسجَّلة، جاهزةً لما هو قادم.

The company welcomed Engineer Ahmed Sarmad — the founder's grandson — to carry the house into its third generation. For over sixty years our motto has not changed: Quality. Trust.
